Therapeutic potential of Punica granatum in wound healing: An overview

Objective: This review aim to report the results of most recent research and applications different extracts P. granatum in vivo wound healing process. Methods:For survey articles literature, a search was conducted PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct Citation Index Expanded (Web Science) databases. Results: Punica is plant native Iran adjacent regions widely used worldwide as food medicinal source. Its property closely linked presence phenolic compounds, tannins flavonoids, its concentration treatment formulations seems be determinant for acceleration tissue repair, although few data on standardization stability these are available. Studies experimental models were able demonstrate repair potential granatum; however, human studies still scarce. Conclusions: contribution summarizes use types lesions, emphasizing effects inflammatory, prolif-erative, remodeling phases.
